The Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake
If you are a wine lover, then you definitely have to visit Niagara-on-the-Lake, take a tour of its wineries and of course, taste their world class wines. Most probably, you already did and I’m quite sure, it was a memorable day.
Below is a brief run-down of some of these wineries, for those who haven’t been to Niagara-on-the-Lake (NOTL) which is often referred to as the “prettiest city in Ontario”.
1. Hillebrand Winery – one of the biggest among the wineries in NOTL, crafting fine VQA wines from premium grapes
2. Pilliteri Estate Winery – known as the world’s largest estate producer of ice wine
3. Joseph’s Estate – producer of specialty and fruit wines>
4. Frogpond Farm – known for its certified organic wine
5. Inniskillin Winery – producer of internationally renowned ice wine
6. Stratus Winery – its flagship are the multi-variety blends called simply Stratus White and Stratus Red
7. Château des Charmes – produces excellent Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, rosé, and great reds
8. Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate Winery – known for its state-of-the-art winery
9. Peller Estates Winery – producers of premium red varietals and high-quality reds and whites VQAs
10. Pallatine Hills Estate Winery – a boutique winery providing a range of wines, including their specialty Icewines
The wineries of NOTL are a close knit community. They are located within minutes of each other.
